Lagu ini merupakan single pertama sejak dirilisnya album keempat yaitu Mesmerize pada tahun 2005 .Sebenarnya judul lagu ini memiliki kepanjangannya . Yaitu Bring Your Own Bombs.Nah ko bisa diberi judul seperti itu ? Sama halnya seperti lagu " boom !" pada album ketiga System Of A Down yaitu Steal This Album . Didalam lagu tersebut menceritakan tentang protesnya terhadap George Bush yang mengirimkan tentaranya selama perang di Irak.
Lagu yang berjudul B.Y.O.B ini diciptakan oleh sang Gitaris dari System Of A Down , Daron Malakian.Lagu B.Y.O.B juga dapat kita mainkan pada serial permainan video game seperti Guitar Hero World Tour , Rock Band dan Rocksmith 2014.Dengan populernya lagu ini ke seluruh dunia , Lagu ini telah memenangkan penghargaan Grammy awards tahun 2005 sebagai kategori " Best Hard Rock Performance ".
System Of A Down juga pernah membawakan lagu ini setelah memenangkan penghargaan sebagai "Best Alternative Act" di MTV Europe Music Award tahun 2005 di lisbon , Portugal.Pada saat System Of A Down membawakan lagu B.Y.O.B , Sang Gitaris Daron Malakian merubah liriknya menjadi : Blast off ! it's party time ! And this ain't no bullshit political runk rock ! " yang awal liriknya yaitu " Blast off ! it's party time ! And we don't live in a fascist nation " yang disebutkan langsung kepada MTV.Menurut saya , Hal tersebut dikarenakan sang Gitaris merasa kesal bahwa bandnya dikelompokkan sebagai band "Political Punk Rock" pada review sebelumnya.
